Diet Pills For Weight Loss - Is It Safe To Take Diet Pills For Weight Loss?

by Miriam Berkowitz

As obesity rates rise, using diet pills for weight loss is becoming a common occurrence among people looking to lose weight.

Some people have success with diet pills while others may not. Most people who use diet pills as part of a weight loss plan will see results. Even though, they may produce positive results, because of possible long term health risks and side effects diet pills should not be used for extended periods of time.

There are a wide variety of diet pills for weight loss available. The most commonly used ones are appetite suppressants and fat blockers.

The job of appetite suppressants is to make the body believe that it is full. It does this by releasing the hormones epinephrine and norepinephrine. These two hormones make the body feel as though it is satisfied and no longer hungry.

When you dont feel hungry, you are far less likely to over eat.

While good at stimulating weight loss, appetite suppressants can cause many side effects, some of which include stomach pain, jitters, bad headaches and fatigue.

Appetite suppressants are not designed for long term use. You will have better and longer lasting results with diet pills if you gradually alter your lifestyle to include low calorie healthy foods and implement an exercise plan.

Fat Blockers are designed to increase energy, speed up metabolism and prevent the fat in foods from being absorbed into the body. Instead they are eliminated from the body as waste products.

Fat blockers can be an instrumental part of a weight loss plan but they can have side effects such as oily loose bowel movements, nausea and stomach cramping.

Although, both supplements are effective for weight loss, there is a strong possibility of putting the weight back on once you discontinue use. Therefore, if you decide to use them to assist in your weight loss it is key that you begin an exercise routine and change your meal plan to include healthier foods, such as lean meats and vegetables.

Once you are consistent with your healthier lifestyle changes you can eliminate the supplements and still maintain the weight loss.

Diet pills can be found at drugstores, major retails or by prescription from your physician.

Before using diet pills for weight loss be sure to evaluate the label closely and check to be sure there are no FDA concerns or recalls. Also, before taking any weight loss pill consult with your doctor to get his her final approval based on your health.
