The Tag Team of Arts & Kettlebell Exercises

by Dutch Kiesecker

Every weekend, I see dozens of my single friends get dolled up to go out to a local bar. They throw on their favorite outfit and hope that, with a little bit of luck and liquid confidence, they can find the person they've been wanting. But the truth is that all of the luck and liquor on earth isn't going to find them the right connection. So I ask them: "why not head to the gym or sign up for a cooking or art class that interests you instead?" They gaze at me blankly before continuing to get ready, but a ceramics class at the local community center or starting the kettlebell training routine could be the answer to their prayers. You might be thinking: "how could arts and crafts or kettlebell exercises be what I need to find Mr. or Mrs. Right?"

Imagine, for a second, what it's like for a single person walking into a bar full of strangers. You don't know what you have in common with them - if you have a single thing in common to start with, that is. It could be a daunting encounter and at the end of the night, you haven't met somebody with long term potential or you spent all night nursing your drink by yourself in the spot. You should have taken up ceramics or kettlebell training as a replacement.

If I ever mentioned these suggestions, naturally I am thinking about them at the moment they come up in my mind. But the simple truth is, the smart way to meet somebody is going to the gym instead of going to the bar to meet somebody new. You may not be dressed nice, but maybe meeting someone for the first time in gym clothes can be a great boost when trying to date. We all face some fear when meeting someone we could potentially date. Going to the gym and working out like them will show the person you are making an effort to be in shape like them.

If a step aerobics class or the kettlebell workout isn't for you, select a class that really interests you. If you like art, pick up a drawing or ceramics class. Maybe the live model in class will strike your fancy or you can simply meet a fellow lover of the arts. (Picture the two of you reenacting that scene with Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze in Ghost.) If you're curious in cooking (or can't cook for your life) look for a possible date in a cooking lesson and bond over your devotion (or hatred) of a culinary arts.

Remember that chances are that you aren't going to find the person you're going to marry in a dimly lit bar. Instead of being surrounded by the smells of a brewery floor and too much perfume, imagine being overloaded by the scents of something tasty at a cooking class. Instead of meeting someone whose judgment is impaired by one drink too many, meet someone to share your endorphin high after great workout. After all, if you're interested in cooking, art, or kettlebell training - isn't it perfect to find someone who shares that hobby?

If you're seeking to use kettlebells in a new workout that involves kettlebell exercises, you should take a look at the KettleX program today!
