Follow These Strategies to Lose Weight and Keep it Off

So many people make the awful mistake of thinking short term goals when it comes to weight loss. They think about that golden number they want to see on the scale, but never think beyond that day. The key to weight loss is really keeping that weight off, and for that you've got to think long term and have a plan.
If you want to lose weight the healthy way, it's best to pass on fad diets. Diets that are extreme in nature are not good for your health. These ubiquitous diets enjoy short-term popularity, but fade just as quickly as they appear. They lose their popularity because, even though they do help you lose weight, they do not enable you to live a healthy lifestyle.
The second rule is to change how you think of dieting in your mind. Don't think of a diet as punishing yourself, or you are absolutely doomed to fail. Think of dieting as a lifestyle change and approach food choices with the idea that 80% of the time you will eat whole foods and nothing processed or packages. Allow 20% "cheats" when out to dinner with friends or at a summer barbecue. Just use common sense, it goes a long way.
The third rule we need to discuss is to make sure you have breakfast that contains a higher amount of protein. Protein keeps you fuller, longer so you won't get hungry and be tempted to have unhealthy snacks that may be laying around the office in vending machines.
Rule number 4, and you've no doubt heard this one before but hear it again because it's key to losing weight: avoid sugary drinks like soda and "fake" fruit juices.
